Price Intel: the repricing tool for car dealers
Price Intel turns your pricing rule into a to-do list: which cars to cut, raise or hold today, what each tier costs, and a CSV with targets for Top 3 to Top 20.
Which cars on your lot need a new price today, and by how much? Price Intel is a repricing tool for car dealers that answers that in one list. It takes the rule you saved on How we price, applies it to every vehicle, and sorts the cars that are furthest from your target to the top. It is an action list for the manager, not a feed: nothing here changes a price on your website or in your DMS. You, or whoever handles pricing, make the change.
Four tiles at the top count the work: In Top N for your current target, Need a price cut with the dollars combined, Can raise and Avg days on lot. Under them a strip of chips, such as In Top 10, Top 4–5 or Rank 11+, splits the lot into buckets, and Cut, Raise and Hold count how many cars need each move. The table shows Vehicle, Your price, Position, the price that buys Top 3, Top 5, Top 10 and Top 20, then Move now and Days; Columns adds Mileage or Notes.
A typical routine: for example, every Tuesday and Friday the manager opens the tab, clicks Cut, reads the red prices under Move now, and hands the CSV to the person who edits prices. The file carries one action per VIN plus the target price for every tier, so the same list works for a Top 3 store and a Top 20 store. Because a step is capped by your rule, for example max drop 10%, a car that is far off comes back on the list tomorrow for the next step.
The steps below follow the tab from the tiles down to the export; the vehicle-by-vehicle view of the same numbers lives on the Inventory table.
01 Your pricing to‑do list
- In Top N — cars already sitting at your target rank.
- Need a price cut — how many cars to lower, and the dollars combined.
- Can raise — cars that can go up and stay in target.
- Avg days on lot — how long your cars have been waiting.
The line below shows how fresh market prices are.

Price Intel is your pricing to do list. In Top N shows how many cars already sit at your target rank. Need a price cut and Can raise count the cars that should move, and the dollars involved. 02 Sort your lot into buckets
- Click a chip — for example In Top 3 or Rank 11+ — to filter the table.
- Cut, Raise, Hold — how many cars need each move today.
- Sorted by: furthest from Top N — the biggest gaps come first.
- Still pricing means some cars are still loading — give it a moment.
Click a chip again, or Clear, to show everything.

This strip sorts your lot into buckets. Click a chip, like In Top three or Rank eleven plus, to show only those cars. Cut, Raise and Hold count how many cars need each move today. The list is sorted with the cars furthest from your target first, and Still pricing means a few cars are still loading.
03 What each tier costs
- Position — where your price ranks among similar cars nearby, like #7 of 10.
- Top 3 to Top 20 — the price that puts this car into each tier.
- ✓ In — already inside; a dash means too few cars to compare.
- Click a tier, for example Top 10, to make it your target — the tiles and counts follow.
Blue column = current target. Hover a price for the full story.

Position is where your price ranks among similar cars nearby. Top three through Top twenty show the price that puts each car into that tier, so you see what it costs to reach the top three versus the top ten. A check mark means already in. Click a header to make that tier your target, and the counts follow.
04 Cut, raise, or hold
- A red price under Move now — cut to it today.
- A green price — raise to it and stay inside your target.
- Hold — already in target, or too small a move to matter.
- For example, max drop 10% — one step at a time; repeat tomorrow.
Hover any move for the full explanation.

Move now is the one action per car. A red price means cut to that number today. A green price means you can raise to it and stay inside your target. Hold means the car is already in target, or the move is too small to matter. A note like max drop ten percent means one step at a time, so repeat tomorrow.
05 Take the list with you
- CSV — download the list exactly as you see it, filters included.
- The file carries the target price for Top 3 through Top 20.
- Columns — show Mileage or Notes, drag to reorder.
Hand the CSV to whoever changes prices.

Two tools on the right. CSV downloads the list exactly as you see it, filters included, with the target price for Top three through Top twenty for every car. Columns lets you show Mileage or Notes and drag the columns into the order you like. Hand the file to whoever changes your prices.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know which cars to reprice today?
Open Price Intel and click the Cut chip. The list is already sorted with the cars furthest from your target first, and the red price under Move now is the number to cut to today. Raise shows the cars that can go up and still stay inside your target, and Hold means the car is already in target or the move is smaller than the amount your rule tells us to ignore.
Does Price Intel change prices on my website or DMS?
No. It is an action list for the manager, built from the pricing rule you saved on How we price. Nothing is pushed to your website, your feed or your DMS. You download the CSV or read the list and change the prices in the tool you already use.
What does it cost to stay in the top 10 versus the top 3?
The Top 3, Top 5, Top 10 and Top 20 columns show, for each car, the price that puts it inside that tier among similar cars nearby, with the dollar change from your price. A check mark means the car is already inside, a dash means there are too few comparable cars to say. Click a tier header, for example Top 10, to make it your target; the tiles, chips and Move now follow.
What is in the exported price actions CSV?
CSV downloads the rows you see, filters included. Each line has the VIN, year, make, model, trim, your price, rank, the size of the comparison group, days on market, the action, target price, delta and projected rank, the target price for top 3, 5, 10 and 20, the reason, the search radius in miles and whether the radius was widened.
Why does a car say Hold when it ranks 11th?
Hold covers three cases: the car is already inside your target, the move needed is under the dollar amount your rule ignores, or the group of similar cars nearby is too thin for a reliable target. Hover the Move now cell and the full explanation is written out for that car.
See it on your own inventory
A demo runs on your live listings, not a sample lot: your cars, the competitors around your store, and the target price for each one.
