Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
The VinAssessment Photo Branding Chrome extension helps a car dealership brand its inventory photos and place the branded photos into upload fields on websites the user chooses. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with data.
What the extension stores
-
Your branding design — the template, overlay text
(dealership name, city, phone), and your dealership website — sent from
the VinAssessment photo-branding tool. It is stored locally in your
browser (
chrome.storage.local) so the extension can apply it. It is not transmitted anywhere by the extension.
What the extension accesses
- Your inventory and vehicle photos are fetched from the VinAssessment backend (vinassessment.com) using your dealership website, solely to render branded versions.
- Upload fields on the current page. To place branded photos into the site you are posting on, the extension detects file-upload inputs on the page and inserts the rendered image files. It only interacts with upload fields for this purpose.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, the content of pages you visit, keystrokes, form data, or any personally identifiable information.
- It does not sell or share data with third parties.
- It does not use your data for advertising or any purpose unrelated to branding and placing your inventory photos.
- Photo rendering happens locally in your browser; the extension does not upload your photos to any server.
Data retention
The only stored item is your branding design, kept locally until you replace it or remove the extension.
